Race for Research

Every year on 11th April — to mark the location of the CASK gene on the X chromosome (11.4) — teams around the world organise a race to raise vital funds for CASK research.

Race for Research — Team Alice

About the challenge

Walk, push a wheelchair or buggy, jog or ride your bike. Take as long as you like. We encourage you to invite your friends, family and neighbours to participate.

It can be as simple as a 5km walk, but you can make it anything you want — and even create a mini party atmosphere with food and music after your run. Many teams create their own team T-shirts and recruit competing teams.

How to take part

  1. Decide on a date and create your team fundraising page on Just Giving, choosing CASK Research Foundation as your charity. If you haven't got a Just Giving account, it's free and easy to sign up.
  2. Share the link and/or QR code for your fundraising page. Each member of your team can share with their friends and family and request sponsorship.
  3. Grab your T-shirts from our Teemill store.

On the 11th April the following year, the team that has raised the most funds doing their Race for Research will receive a special certificate and prize from The CASK Coalition.
