CASK Research

Our Work

How we fund research

CASK Research awards grants through a rigorous peer-review process and works alongside the CASK Coalition to co-fund international projects. Our funding strategy is led by our Scientific Advisory Board and prioritises translational, clinic-ready research.

Our approach

We fund ground-breaking research to improve the lives of people with CASK gene-related conditions and to understand more about this critical gene. Project selection is led by our research strategy, with the most promising proposals chosen via independent peer review by our Research Review Committee.

We are open to considering collaborations with international institutions. Where no funding is available we will work with the institutions to apply for grants from external sources. Due to scarcity of funds we prioritise seed funding.

Peer review

We award our funds through a peer-review process — recognised as best practice in awarding research grants. Each application requiring over £20,000 of funding is subject to review by independent experts in the field.
