Pauline's WingWalk for CASK!
Tuesday, 9 September 2025
A grandmother demonstrated remarkable courage by completing a wing-walk fundraiser for CASK Research. Pauline Offen strapped herself to the top of a biplane to raise awareness and funds for families affected by CASK gene disorders.
The flight was originally scheduled for 29 September but was postponed due to heavy rain. Pauline ultimately completed her aerial challenge on 5 October, soaring through the clouds while secured to the aircraft's wing.
Pauline's motivation: her granddaughter Jess, now 24, has a CASK gene mutation accompanied by nystagmus and significant learning difficulties. "My granddaughter Jess, 24, has a missense of the CASK gene with nystagmus and severe learning difficulties."
Approximately 40 UK families and 350 worldwide are affected by CASK-related disorders. Pauline's family has deep ties to the organisation — her daughter serves as a trustee, and Jess continues to inspire the community through her resilience.
